Academic transcript
In Japanese: 成績証明書 (seiseki shomeisho)
Definition
An academic transcript (seiseki shomeisho) is a document in which the school officially certifies the courses a student took and the grades earned.
In more detail
It is requested for further study, jobs, study abroad and scholarships. There is no national format; each school issues its own.
In K-12, the cumulative record is described as the master record behind certificates issued to outside parties. Universities and vocational schools issue transcripts from their enrollment and grade records.
Transcripts are requested long after graduation, so records must be kept accurately for a long time.
In Classio
In Classio, a transcript can be issued only when approved, finalised grades exist.
