One record, passed to the next person

With a ledger per office, the same facts are copied again and again and problems are noticed late. In Classio, what one person records reaches the next person’s screen as it is.

Japanese school rules, built into the screens

Classio is built around the Japanese school year and its rules. The main ones, with their sources.

  • Aprilstart

The year starts in April, with two terms

How Classio handles it: Timetables, grades, fees and totals are kept by academic year

  • 公欠 and 認定欠席 (approved and excused absence)

How Classio handles it: 公欠 counts as present; excused absences such as bereavement and suspension leave the rate and absence counts

  • 5years

    Attendance register (出席簿)

Retention of registers (Enforcement Regulations, Art. 28)

How Classio handles it: Lesson-by-lesson attendance and daily absence notices are recorded

  • 28hours / week

    International students’ permitted work

How Classio handles it: Weeks over 28 hours (8 hours a day in long vacations) are found

  • June

Periodic report of accredited Japanese-language institutions

    Reported 1–30 June each year

How Classio handles it: Totals of the base data, provided after confirmation at the adopting school

Important actions are checked by two people, and changes are logged

See security and permissions

Status changes, grade locking and certificate issuance are finalised only after someone other than the requester approves. Important changes are logged with when, who and which record. Counselling records can be read only by the school counsellor.

School data is stored in Japan (AWS Tokyo Region). What is sent to outside services for AI, notifications and payments is published on the security page.

Start small, then the whole school
