School groups
Each school runs its own way; the group sees the whole.
Run vocational, language, high and cram schools each on its own edition; the group compares schools it is allowed to see and pays Classio with one invoice.
The group’s year, and what Classio handles
A common pattern for groups running several schools. Each item links to the section that explains it.
What Classio is for school groups
For school corporations, Classio keeps each school’s records, roles and rules separate, lets group staff compare the schools they are allowed to see, and combines Classio fees into one invoice. Schools’ data is never merged.

What each school keeps, and what the group combines
Each school has its own records, roles, rules and edition (for vocational schools and universities, private K–12, cram and lesson schools, or driving and training schools). Within a school, campuses can be separated and staff limited to particular campuses.
The group overview reads only schools where the person is an administrator or executive, one school at a time. Records are never merged across schools.
Different kinds of school, each on its own edition
Vocational and language schools use the Campus edition, a high school the private K–12 edition, a cram school the lessons edition. Each edition changes the words (学生 or 生徒) and menus, and each school is priced on its own edition.
Campus scope and approvals
Limiting staff to campuses narrows students, attendance, grades, fees, classes and timetables to those campuses; staff without a limit see the whole school.
Approval flows can be set per campus and department, and each person can have a yen limit for fee approvals.
Compare schools in the group overview
The group overview shows each school’s enrolment, new students, withdrawals, unpaid rate and attendance with six months of trend, side by side.
Benchmarks compare a school, with its consent, against an anonymous peer group (no other institution’s name or data is shown). Until ten or more institutions take part, results may not appear.

Schools of one operator, side by side
- Figures are computed per school; records are not shared between schools
- Students, withdrawals, unpaid and attendance rates, six-month trend
- Schools on other editions (here a drone school) in the same list
One invoice; school fees stay with each school
Classio fees can be combined into one invoice to the corporation, with each school’s name, plan, students, campuses and amount listed. With the issuer’s name, address and registration number set, it is issued as a qualified invoice. Combined billing is set up by Classio.
Fees that students and guardians pay stay with each school and are never combined.
Order of introduction
Settle one school first, then use its settings (approval flows, roles, terminology) as the model for the next. Student records cannot be moved between schools, so transfers are recorded at each school.
School group pricing
Each school is priced on its own edition and plan, combined into one invoice to the corporation. On the Campus edition, ENTERPRISE includes five campuses, and campuses can be added on every plan. Single sign-on is ENTERPRISE.
Amounts use the same calculation as the price list (monthly, excl. tax). The examples are per school; the group invoice lists them as lines.
| School size | Plan | Monthly (excl. tax) |
|---|---|---|
| Vocational school, 400 students, 3 campuses | PROFESSIONAL | ¥78,800 |
| Language school, 250 students, 1 campus | PROFESSIONAL | ¥69,800 |
| High school, 600 students | Private K–12 | ¥147,800 |
| Vocational school, 1,200 students, 5 campuses | ENTERPRISE | ¥164,000 |

What Classio does not do
- It does not replace school-corporation accounting or HR and payroll systems.
- Schools’ records are not combined into one database, and student records are not moved between schools.
- An independent privacy review of benchmarks has not yet been published.

- Being an administrator or executive at each school shows it in the group overview.
- Who is the invoice addressed to?
- The contracting corporation, with a line per school.
