Admission report

In Japanese: 調査書 (chosasho)

Definition

An admission report (chosasho) is a record of grades and activities that a student’s current school prepares for the next school’s admissions.

In more detail

For university admissions, universities ask applicants to submit an admission report that their high school prepares from the cumulative record in a set format, and use it to assess ability, motivation and aptitude from many angles.

If the university and the high school agree, the report may be electronic, in which case no principal’s seal is needed.

When pupils move on from lower secondary school, the principal sends the admission report and other documents to the next school’s principal.

In Classio

In Classio, the 通知表・要録・調査書 screen builds admission-report data, and its 進路希望 section tracks target schools and results.
