Definition
An LMS (Learning Management System) supports the operation of online learning — delivering materials, collecting assignments and recording results.

It handles content delivery, assignment submission and grading, and learning-history records.
Its scope differs from a school management system, which also covers records and grades.
Enrolment, grade finalisation, certificates and fees are usually handled by a 学務 or school management system. Schools that use both share class lists and grades between them.

In Classio
Classio includes LMS functions — assignments, quizzes and materials — on the same record as enrolment and grades. It is not meant to replace a large university’s campus-wide LMS. The difference between 学務 and an LMS is explained in our 学務 system guide.
