Tuition reduction
In Japanese: 授業料減免 (jugyoryo genmen)
Definition
Tuition reduction (jugyoryo genmen) lowers or waives all or part of a student’s tuition, for example for financial hardship.
In more detail
Under the national support scheme, the operators of confirmed universities and vocational schools reduce tuition and admission fees.
Universities and vocational schools may also run their own reduction or waiver schemes, with their own eligibility and procedures.
Reduced amounts must flow into billing, so the work is tied to fee invoicing and payment tracking.
In Classio
In Classio, students can request a fee reduction from their application screen, and the school manages invoices in Fees & Scholarships.
