Record international students' part-time work week by week on the Work hours (就労時間) tab of International student support (留学生支援). Administrators and International office staff record and edit.
The limits
Students with the Student (留学) status may work, under their permission for activities outside status, up to 28 hours a week in total. During the school's long vacations (such as summer break) the limit is 8 hours a day. Classio checks these two.
| Week | What is checked | Over the limit when |
|---|---|---|
| Normal week | The week's total hours | Over 28 hours |
| Long-vacation week | Hours on the longest day | Over 8 hours |
The long-vacation rule can be used only for students with the Student status.
Record a week
Press Record work hours (就労時間を記録) and choose the student.
Choose the first day of the week. A week is 7 days from that day (the end date is set for you). A week that hasn't started can't be recorded.
Enter the total hours of all jobs. For a long-vacation week, switch on Long-vacation week (長期休業期間の週) and also enter Hours on the longest day.
Hours over the limit are pointed out before you save.
A record for the same student and week is replaced. Saving a week over the limit opens a Work permission / hours (資格外活動・就労時間) case for the student (high priority, due in 7 days). If one is already open, no new case is made; the week is added to that case's history.
Check
Weeks over the limit (基準を超えた週) shows the count for the last 4–52 weeks and the students over most often. Filter the list to weeks over the limit or weeks from a date. Record the check with the student and the outcome on that case, then resolve it (Create cases for international students, log actions and resolve them).
Edit or remove
Edit (修正) changes the hours or the long-vacation setting. Remove a mistaken week with the bin icon and a reason.
