School bus (送迎バス) is for classrooms that run a bus for their lessons. Register the routes, stops and riders, and each time the driver records leaving, arriving or departing, only the families of the riders at that stop are told. Families never see a map and Classio does not store the bus's position.

  1. Open School bus and press "Add route".

  2. Enter the route name, pick-up (to the classroom) or drop-off (from the classroom), the departure time and the running days. You can also set the usual driver and the number of seats.

  3. List the stops in the order the bus reaches them, with "Minutes from start" for each. The first stop is 0. For pick-up the last stop is the classroom; for drop-off the first.

  4. Press "Save".

With a latitude and longitude, the driver's phone records arrival and departure at that stop automatically. Stand at the stop and press "Use my location" to fill them in. Without them, the driver records the stop by tapping.

On the route card, press "Add rider", find the learner and choose the stop where they get on (or off, for drop-off) and the days. Leave every day ticked if they ride on all running days.

  1. Open "Drive" and choose today's route.

  2. Press "Leave …" to start; families get an estimated arrival time.

  3. Press "Arrived" and "Leave" at each stop. With "Turn on location", stops are recorded automatically as you reach them. Keep the screen on (in the Classio app, the screen stays on automatically during a run).

  4. At the end, press "Finish run", tick "I have checked that nobody is left on the bus" and finish. The run cannot be finished without this check.

The phone's location is only compared with the stops. It is not stored on the server and is never shown to families.

  • The bus has left: when the bus leaves the first stop, with an estimated time for their child's stop.

  • Coming soon: when the bus leaves the stop before their child's.

  • Arrived: for pick-up, at the classroom; for drop-off, at their child's stop.

  • No bus: when staff press "Cancel today" before the bus leaves, with the reason.

Alerts arrive by LINE or app notification in the family's language. They are sent even in quiet hours, because a bus alert is only useful at that moment.

Families can press "Not riding today" in "Today's bus" on their home screen. Staff can switch it by tapping the child's name under "Today". Families of children who are not riding get no alerts, and the driver sees their names crossed out.

If a run is still open, the driver and the administrators, academic administrators and registrars get an urgent "Cabin check not done" alert. It arrives at once by app notification and LINE, even during quiet hours.

  • 15 minutes after the bus reached its last stop (the classroom, for pick-up) and "Finish run" has not been pressed

  • 60 minutes after the scheduled arrival if the run is still open, even if the last stop was never reached (for a lost phone or a closed app)

Each is sent once per run. Under "Today" the run shows "Cabin check pending" in red. Check the bus and press "Finish run" to clear it.

A run left open for 6 hours is closed automatically. It then shows "Closed automatically without a cabin check" with the time the alert went out. Please ask the driver.

This alert is a software reminder. It does not replace the anti-left-behind safety device that the law requires on buses of nursery schools and kindergartens (保育所・幼稚園). Facilities that need the device must fit it to the vehicle.
