Guardians can report an absence, a late arrival or an early leaving just by writing to the school's LINE account in their own words. Classio reads the day, the child, the lesson and the kind of notice from the message and records it under the same rules as a notice sent from the app.
How guardians send it
Write to the school's LINE account, for example:
「明日ゆうま熱で休みます」 (Yuma has a fever and will miss tomorrow)
「今日は30分遅れます」 (30 minutes late today)
"Yuma will be absent tomorrow"
「今日は19時10分に早退します」 (leaving at 19:10 today)
When only one child and one lesson fit, the notice is accepted at once and LINE replies with what was recorded and the make-up deadline.
When more than one child or lesson fits, numbered buttons are sent. Tapping a number records that one.
When it is unclear whether it is an absence, a late arrival or an early leaving, the guardian chooses with a button.
Without a day, a late arrival or early leaving means today's lesson, and an absence means today's lesson when there is exactly one. Sending only 「欠席」 (absent) still starts the step-by-step conversation (choose the lesson, then the reason).
How messages are read
Day: today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, weekdays (「金曜」, 「来週の火曜」) and dates such as 「10月15日」, 「10/15」 or 「15日」, in Japan time.
Child: the name in kanji, kana or Latin letters, or a nickname such as 「ゆうくん」. When siblings' nicknames overlap, the guardian chooses a number.
Lesson time: writing 「19時の授業」 (the 19:00 lesson) picks that lesson.
Late arrival: 「30分遅れます」 (30 minutes late) or 「6時半に着きます」 (arriving at 6:30) sets the expected arrival.
Reason: words about health, school events or family matters choose the reason. The message itself is not kept on the notice.
Absences follow the same deadline, make-up deadline and monthly or term limits as notices from the app. Late arrivals and early leaving do not use any lessons; they tell the teacher and the classroom. After a late-arrival notice, the no-arrival alert waits until the expected arrival time has passed.
AI reading (when the school chooses it)
When an administrator turns on "Let AI read LINE absence or late messages the rules cannot read" in AI settings (AI設定), messages the rules cannot settle are read by AI.
Children's names are masked before sending, and messages mentioning health or injuries are never sent.
The guardian is asked to confirm what the AI read, and nothing is recorded until they tap Send (確認・送信).
What the school checks
Open Absences and make-ups (欠席・振替).
From LINE (LINEから) lists absence notices sent on LINE. Notices read from a written message show LINE (read from the message); those read by AI show Read by AI, confirmed by the guardian.
Late / early (遅刻・早退) lists late-arrival and early-leaving notices; check each with Mark as confirmed (確認済みにする).
Classroom today (教室の今日) also shows late and early-leaving notices on the student's row.
