Change the words shown on screen to match your school

How to change terms one at a time in Terminology, apply presets, and how the display differs by school type.

Classio's screens use words such as 学生 (student), 教員 (teacher), 学科 (department), 出席 (attendance) and 学費 (fees). Because schools call these things differently, Classio matches the display in two ways.

  • Switching by school type: the words in the menu and screen headings switch automatically to match the operating family (運用ファミリー) set in Education profile (教育プロファイル). For example, for cram schools and lesson schools, 学生 becomes 生徒, 教員 becomes 講師 and 学費 becomes 月謝 (monthly fees); for elementary, junior high and high schools, 学生 becomes 児童生徒; and for kindergartens and childcare facilities, 学生 becomes 園児.

  • Terminology: the school changes individual terms in Terminology (用語のカスタマイズ).

Terminology is available to administrators and academic administrators.

  1. Open Terminology (用語のカスタマイズ) in the Settings (設定) area.

  2. In Individual terms (個別の用語設定), find the row for the term you want to change. The Default (既定) wording is shown on the left of each row.

  3. Enter the wording your school uses in Japanese label (日本語ラベル). If needed, also enter English label (optional) (英語ラベル(任意)).

  4. Press Save (保存) on that row.

  5. To return to the original wording, press Revert (元に戻す) on that row.

  1. In Apply a preset (プリセットを適用), press the button closest to your school type (vocational school, university, language school, cram or lesson school, driving school, drone school, or skills training).

  2. Read the confirmation screen and press Apply (適用する).

Applying a preset overwrites the items the preset defines, including wording you had already changed individually. Items the preset does not define are not changed.

Help articles are written using the standard wording (student, teacher, attendance, fees, department and so on). Depending on your school's settings, this may differ from the words on screen.
