The attendance rate is the proportion of recorded classes that count as attended. Because the counting differs slightly from screen to screen, the differences are explained here.

The Attendance report (出席レポート) calculates the following for each student.

  • Classes: the number of classes in the period that have an attendance record

  • Attended: of those, the number marked Present (出席) or Excused absence (公欠)

  • Attendance rate: Attended ÷ Classes

Late, left early, sick and absent are not counted as attended in this report. Classes with no attendance record yet are not counted in Classes either. For teachers, only the records of the class sections they teach are included.

The Recorded attendance rate (記録済み出席率) that students and guardians see in Attendance records (出席記録) is the proportion of recorded classes marked Present, Excused absence or Late (遅刻). Because late counts as attended here, it can differ from the Attendance report figure.

When an absence, late arrival or early departure is recorded or changed (for example by Save all (一括保存) or Save the week (週次一括保存) in Attendance records, bulk entry in Academic operations (学務オペレーション), an individual change to a record, or approval of a correction request), the following conditions are checked for that student and that class section, and an alert is created if one applies.

AlertCondition
Low attendanceThe attendance rate for that class section (the proportion of Present and Excused absence) has fallen below 80%
Consecutive absencesThe last 3 records for that class section are all absences

When an alert is created, a notification is also sent to linked guardians. While an alert of the same type remains unresolved, no new one is created. Unresolved alerts are shown in the Alerts (アラート) column of the Attendance report.

When an officially excused absence (公欠) is approved, absent and sick records in that period change to excused absence (counted as attended). For details, see Create and review officially excused absence requests.
